“I wanted to reimagine the awards to be mysterious, beautiful and sexy, like high-end jewelry.” Society Awards CEO and Founder David Moritz explained to a CNN Money reporter when describing what was missing from the high-end, custom design award industry when he created his company.
Society Awards, the premier design and manufacturing business, is responsible for the most notable and recognizable luxury awards and recognition products on the market today. Grove, Oklahoma native and New York City nightlife chairman, David Moritz started the luxury awards company in 2007 and it continues to grow year over year since its inception. Inc. Magazine’s prestigious 500|5000 list has included Society Awards as one of the fastest growing companies in the country five times. The niche awards company has also been recognized many times for business excellence in both the design and marketing worlds. Society Awards is the single best and busiest designer and manufacturer of luxury art objects and award trophies in the world today. Below are just a few of the major entertainment brands that have worked with Society Awards:

The Natural Entrepreneur
Society Awards founder and CEO David Moritz studied British and American literature at New York University while simultaneously running a successful events promotion company while in school. After graduating cum laude from NYU, Moritz went on to study law at Cardozo. By the time he received his law degree, Moritz had already started, run and sold a bar-lounge in New York City called Society Bar.
When working for a law firm did not feel like the correct next step, Moritz identified the luxury awards industry as a niche market with an opening that had yet to be filled. He immediately set out to create that luxury-focused awards business that would rise above and set a new standard for the industry.
Moritz attention to detail, unique design point of view, and strong business acumen made Society Awards an instant success. And he did not stop there. He followed up on that success by launching a full-scale design firm with a concentration on brand strategy and innovation called Viceroy Creative.
Viceroy Creative’s business concept hatched when Moritz identified that package design, while an essential component of most businesses, was commonly given too little attention. With Moritz at the helm, Viceroy has secured high profile clients including Pepsi, Patrón, Colgate, Skyy, Playboy, Marc Jacobs, and many others. Moritz then went on to create Ambition Beverages and launched American-made Vision Vodka which quickly became a staple in many high-end restaurants and nightclubs in New York City.
Society Awards Heads to Oklahoma
In 2012, Moritz opened a new facility for Society Awards in his hometown of Grove, Oklahoma to give his company more space for its growing manufacturing and distribution needs. Rudy Moritz, David’s father, had told his son that Grove would be the perfect home for any Society Awards manufacturing extensions in the future. Moritz listened to his father’s advice, and today the Grove facility, operating on 100% solar power, is used for many of Society Awards’ last-minute manufacturing needs.
Society Awards Finance Group Presents… The Deal Toy
Society Awards continues to dominate the entertainment industry in both design and manufacturing of customized high-end awards, but David Moritz and the Society Awards Finance Group decided to take this unmatched level of art object design and turn their focus back east to Wall Street with the launch of the very first corporate deal toy brand.
What are Deal Toys?
These sculptures accompany and celebrate the successful closing of large-scale financial transactions; everything from mergers and acquisitions to initial debt offerings. Like the Golden Globe and the Emmy statues are representations of the best performances from Hollywood’s elite, deal toys are custom-designed awards given to financiers who have executed the most complex and intricate deals in the banking world today. Deal toys are only awarded to the Meryl Streeps and Jack Nicholsons of the financial world.
Dan Rible is heading up the deal toy initiative for the Society Awards Finance Group and sees this as the perfect time to step into the finance space and dominate the deal toy design and production landscape just as Society Awards did with the entertainment industry in Hollywood. Rible looks at deal toys as a potent symbol of the recovery of our economy and the stability of America’s financial structure. Society Awards Finance Group feels ready to take on the demanding responsibility of putting a face to American prosperity through their deal toy creations.
The Industry Leader Today and Tomorrow
Society Awards seems poised to stay at the top of the award-creation hierarchy in the entertainment world for some time to come. Its iconic award design work includes the Golden Globe and the Emmy statuette, along with custom-designed sculptures for ACM, Billboard, MTV, AFI, and such favorite television shows as NBC’s The Voice and ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. Coupled with a top tier list of corporate clients including Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, The Wall Street Journal, Onex, Mont Blanc, and Macallan seeking out deal toys and corporate gift items, David Moritz and Society Awards will continue to float atop the competition as the premier designer and creator of the world’s most exclusive and elite art objects and awards today.
