For those who engage with a spiritual or esoteric ethos in life, it’s theorised that the body we have are only rentals which have been loaned by the big man in the sky.
I’m talking about God obviously. While there are many who (understandably) question his/her/its existence – it’s beside the point. The point I am trying to get at is if our bodies are once in a lifetime rentals we might as well decorate it while we have them.
I’m not sure if this is the philosophy Amber Luke subscribes to, but she’s spent at least AUD $10,000 on tattoos, piercings and body modifications. Recently she shared a throwback picture of what she looked like pre-transformation and, of course, she looks far different than what she looks today.

Over a seven-year period 23-year-old Amber, from the Central Coast in New South Wales, Australia, has spent a hefty amount of money on tattoos and body piercings – she’s even had her tongue split! It started at age 16 when she developed an obsession for tattoos. Within the next seven years, her body became a human art gallery
Speaking to the Daily Mail Australia, Amber, who has dubbed herself the ‘Blue Eyes White Dragon’ says she has ‘no regrets whatsoever’ about her drastic body modifications.
Amber says:
I got the name “Blue Eyed White Dragon” from my friends, they call me that because I resemble a dragon with my eyes and tongue.

Back in May this year Amber shared a rare picture of herself before the tattoos, piercings and split tongues. A far cry from how she looks now, stating ‘I’m absolutely in love with my image’ today.
Looking back at her old pictures she told the Daily Mail Australia:
I see myself as very plain looking when looking at before and after photos, I absolutely hated the way I used to look. I was boring.

As soon as I turned 16, I was inspired by those around me to get tattooed. I craved to know what the feeling was like.
I developed an addiction at 16 years of age. By the time I hit 18, I already had three tattoos. And when I turned 18, I decided to get my first big piece.
Now, I have over 50 tattoos, I haven’t been able to count all of them.
Amber has been so dedicated to her body transformation she has even risked going blind for it. One of the less subtle modifications she has undergone was also her most dangerous after she got her eyeballs tattooed with blue ink.
She says:
The procedure for getting my eyes done was only 40 minute. It was very intense and very painful. My eyes got held open while a syringe was injected into my eye four times per eye. I was blind for three weeks.

Another painful procedure was her tongue split, she reveals:
My tongue split was very uncomfortable as well, I wasn’t able to speak or eat for a week afterwards.
As well as modifying her eyes and tongue Amber has had her ears pointed, which was a much easier process than the others.

She explains:
My ears were a very simple procedure; a silicone implant was inserted into the tips of my ears to shape them.
While there are those who would find her numerous body modifications strange and off-putting she has also received positive feedback from friends and family, including her mum who ‘has been my biggest supporter since day one’.
